श्री काम दी हाथी !!!Chak De India is the latest Bollywood Blockbuster movie, starring Shah Rukh Khan. This movie is a Punjabi term for "Hail India", which is also the name of the Indian National Hockey Team. The story revolves around Preet Harpal, captain of Indian hockey team who lead his team to victory against Australia in 1975 World Championship. He quits after that victory and starts working as a coach for Indian Cricket Team. After accepting an offer to coach the hockey team he rejoins it but finds that they lost their spirit to play Hockey after Preet's retirement. Now Preet decides to revive this demoralized team.
Shah Rukh Khan shot at the Astroturf Hockey Ground of National Stadium, Delhi, hockey matches were shot in Canada. The filming of the movie is almost complete except for few outdoor shoots which are expected to be completed within few days. Shah Rukh Khan has given over 60% hard core hits in the movie compared to his earlier movies. His aim was to make it a full on commercial movie with maximum entertainment value. Shah Rukh Khan stated that he wanted to show that Indian players were good too and not all cricketers are good only because he himself is a Cricket star also.Chak De! India received positive reviews from critics. Rajeev Masand of CNN-IBN has given the movie three and half star rating, saying that "Chak De! India is an enjoyable masala movie that works well on the big screen because it leaves you with a warm feeling in your heart. It's an emotional sports drama that will appeal to everyone." Mayank Shekhar of Hindustan Times has given three and half star rating, commenting "Chak De! India is like Coca-Cola: Caffeine free with sugar." Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama has given 3.5 out 5 stars, commenting "On the whole, CHAK DE INDIA has all ingredients required to satisfy you 'hungry' for entertainment. "Shah Rukh Khan has looked terrific in this sports drama. He is a complete package. His performance is like a treat for die-hard fans and audience all round." Joginder Tuteja of Bollywood Hungama has also given 3.5 star rating, commenting "Chak De India is not your usual Shah Rukh Khan movie which you would expect from him. His performance, though it appears to be like a bundle of joy and entertainment, does not make you feel like you've witnessed the heights of Shah Rukh Khan's versatility and versatility. But it does make you feel like a home-coming. And that's what Chak De! India is all about." CNN IBN, Star News and Rediff have also given 3.5 star rating to the movie. The movie has collected 2 Crore rupees from its first day of release, at the end of its first week, it collected 5 crores as per film bazaar data.A sequel, titled "Chak De! India The Untold Story", was announced on 11 January 2011 starring Shah Rukh Khan as Preet Haripal and Kunal Khemu as Preet Pal Singh Sandhu. It will be released on 3 May 2012.
